The big head carriage bolt M8x35, also known as large head coach screws M8 or M8x35 oversized head bolts, is a heavy-duty fastener designed for structural applications requiring enhanced load distribution. Featuring a smooth, dome-shaped head with a square neck measuring 12.7mm across flats, this carbon steel bolt has a diameter of 8mm, thread length of 35mm, and a total length from head base of 40mm. With a minimum tensile strength of 800MPa (grade 8.8), it operates in temperature ranges from -50°C to 300°C when zinc-plated. Primarily used in construction, railway systems, and wooden decking installations, these bolts offer superior clamping force and vibration resistance due to the increased bearing surface of their 25mm diameter head. While providing excellent pull-through resistance, the oversized head may require predrilled countersinking in space-constrained assemblies.
